Its paved streets and low buildings form the village center, with many roads that cross with other little roads. These little roads allow us to enjoy the beautiful sights of the village. Tazones is very colorful, different from other seaside villages, serving as a great mirror of its own wonderful landscapes. Bowls reflects a romantic sea where the depth of the horizon merges with reality.

Tazones is a colorful little space in the middle of the Asturian cosmos. This town has grown thanks to the improvement of fishing boats and the natural coast being very suitable and safe for fishing. The pictures on its balconies and windows are so bright that they imitate the sunny days even when the weather is bad. From Villaviciosa one takes the road next to an stuary. Going ahead, one can see the beach of Rodiles, famous for its length and beauty. From this point to Bowls one only has to descend by an asphalt road full of tight curves. It often appears that the abundant vegetation could close our path, but in the end nature allows us to continue well. Now, one reaches sea level and discovers by surprise to great cave, open to a blue horizon with a beautiful beach.

The smell of cider, seafood and fish is very common around the main center. This is fueled by the presence of a great variety of restaurants which offer many dishes, fried fish being the most popular for tourists. The port of Tazones holds new marine installations that make life easier for the fishermen including big fridges to keep the fish fresh. In the past, Bowls was famous for whale hunting but, nowadays this is completely forbidden.

Tazones in the past with the Royal family, in fact, king Carlos V disembarked in Tazones, and by that time, he was the owner of a great empire and his first trip to Spain dated from September the 19th in 1517. We can imagine that this disembarkment in Tazones was not really important at first. But the main aim of this trip was to take charge of his crown and from Tazones he started his discovery of the Iberian reign.

Currently, this village has been recognized as an Artistic Historical site of the Principality of Asturias. Each year, on August the 17th or the day of «San Roquín», they celebrate and simulate the disembarkment of Carlos V in this village. This perfomance from its beginnings it has attracted lots of tourists and curious people that are very well informed because they always announce it a few days before the celebration takes place. Together with the performance of the figure of Carlos V, other people are parading with epoch dresses, and also the acting as menbers of the crown or servants. This fictitious disembarkment is becoming more and more famous because it is also celebrated on August the 15th, 16th, and 17th paying homage to the Saint Roque. The tradition is to take a figure of the Saint in a procession on a boat by the sea, accompanied by the fishermen of this village. Together with this Saint, the Carmen virgin is also taken in procession.

One of the most interesting points to visit in this village is a little house with many shells on its outside walls, showing the strong links between the village of Tazones and the sea.

Here, in Tazones we can also find important deposits of dinosaur's traces, being one of the most important deposits in all of Europe. This contributes to the popularity of the Asturian Jurassic Coast. Also, the beach of Tazones has many dinosaur traces, including a fossil of the long tail of one of those great monsters.
