Asturias has seven beaches with this distinction: the beaches of L'Arbeyal, San Lorenzo y West, in Gijón; San Pedro de la Ribera, in Cudillero; Santa Marina, in Ribadesella; Bull y Palombina, in the council of Llanes.
The last committee of certification of beaches of the Institute for the Tourist Quality has granted the distinctive "Q" of Tourist Quality to three new Spanish beaches in Cantabria and Catalonia. These are the beaches of El Sable and La Arena, both in Cantabria, and the Racó (Catalonia).
There are a total of 182 certified beaches on the Spanish coast, 29 more than the previous year. The increase in certifications on the beaches with respect to the previous year is 19 percent. Andalucía has 60 certifications and Valencia, with 47.
