The surface of the municipal term is of 75 Km2, being more than a third of its territory in the National Park of the Picos de Europa. The population is distributed in eleven population centers, being its capital in Benia de Onís.
The minimum level is 175 m. at the source of the main river Güeña affluent of the Sella river and the maximum height the Pico de Verdilluenga 2.130 m.
How to get there
From Gijón, it is best to take the A-8 to Posada de Llanes, here we take the AS115 towards Picos de Europa and at the roundabout of the Rebollada we take the AS114 that will take us to Benia de Onís.
From Oviedo, it is best to take the N634 to Arriondas, here we will take the road to Cangas de Onís and here the AS114 that will take us to Benia de Onís.
